12 May, 2025 – Dr. John Garang Memorial University of Science and Technology was honored to host a high-level government delegation led by Hon. Hussin Abdhalbagi Akol the National Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Onyoti Odiga the National Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, and Hon. Riak Gai Kok the Governor of Jonglei State, alongside other distinguished officials. The purpose of their visit was to assess the university’s farm, Rice Plantation Project, and Vocational Training Centres, highlighting the institution’s commitment to agricultural innovation and skills development.
Warm Welcome by University Leadership
The delegation was received by Prof. Aabraham Matoc Dal the Vice Chancellor of Dr.JG-MUST, along with his two deputies, deans of various colleges, students, and other university staff. In his welcoming remarks, the Vice Chancellor expressed gratitude for the government’s interest in the university’s projects and reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to contributing to national food security and vocational training.
