Our Curriculum Overview
A Commitment to Excellence
The University follows semester system in all colleges. A semester comprises fifteen weeks. The medium of instruction is English in all colleges except in college of Education where foriegn Language are offered as specialisation.
College Of Management Sciences
The college of management science (CMS), formly the college of Business and Economic (CBE), was established in January 2011 by Dr. Akim Ajieth Buny as per the then Vice Chancellor Prof. Aggrey Ayuen Majok's ordinance, three years after the establishment of Dr. John Garang memorial University of Sciecne and Technology and seven months before the proclamation of South Sudan's independence on July 9th, 2011.
College Of Education
The college of Education (CED) is one of the Colleges of Dr.John Garang Memorial University. On the eve of 2013, two colleges and one institute were approved by the council of Higher Education, namely: College of Education, College of management Sciences, and Institute of Fisheries (Padak). College of Educatin embeds pre-primary education, primary education and secondary education.
College of Agriculture
The College of Agriculture curriculum was developed since 2014 and reviewed again in 2021-2021. for the reviewed curriculum, many courses were maintained from the old curriculum and new introduced. some courses from the old curriculum were totally removed while others were removed and replaced. A new curriculum from the department of Agricultural extension has been introduced.
College of Environmental Studies
It is believed that the best possible way to develop a young nation like South Sudan will be through the rational exploitation of its diverse natural resources. Therefore, it become one of the motives for the establishment of this college of environmental studies as one of the colleges in the newly established Dr. John Garang Memorial University of Science and Technology.
College of Science and Technology
The Vision of the College of Science and Technology at Dr. John Garang Memorial University of Science and Technology is to develop global citizen scholars who are prepared to increase understanding of the natural world and applied sciences to the surrounding community and to be productive and successful in their careers.
College of post-graduate studies
The College of Postgraduate Studies & Scientific Research was established in 2010. Since its foundation, Dr. John Garang Memorial University of Science & Technology (Dr. JG - MUST), has given considerable attention to Graduate Studies and scientific research. These unremitting attention and efforts have resulted in the establishment for the provision of training to holders of bachelor’s degrees to gain admission to Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters, and Ph.D. programmes. The College started training students for specializations at the level of higher Diploma, master’s degree, and Doctorates as principle of Borloug Institute. Currently, the College is offering more postgraduate programmes (Diploma and Masters) across disciplines in Humanities and Applied Sciences. Those programmes have been designed to be implemented by coursework and research to meet postgraduate students’ educational goals. During this continued growth, many rules and regulations have been established to organize its march towards sustainable development aiming at achieving erudition and academic excellence.
